Free the Ukrainian nuclear workers!

9 March 2026 Update

Relatives of the Ukrainian nuclear workers and the Truth Hounds team met with IAEA representatives in Vienna, delivering the call for their release and the voices of over 50.000 people who signed on. The petition was also presented to Members of the UK Parliament. The families won’t stop speaking out until their loved ones are free – so let’s keep signing!

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the largest one in Ukraine (and Europe), then took it over. Since March 2022, they abducted, tortured, and imprisoned many of the plant’s workers as well as other civilians who lived in the nearby Enerhodar city. Today, many of them still remain in prison.

Their families just want them back home.

That’s why they’re traveling to Vienna next week to meet with Director General Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency. He’s deeply involved in discussions about what happens to Zaporizhzhia, but so far he hasn’t publicly pushed for the return of the workers.

We can help change that by sending the families of the workers into their meeting backed by a massive global call. Grossi is angling to be the next UN Secretary General, and doing this will give him an opportunity to avoid the negative spotlight and increase his reputation as a negotiator and peacemaker.

Sign now and the families will deliver our voices directly to Grossi in Vienna!

This campaign is run in partnership with Truth Hounds, a human rights organisation that documents and investigates war crimes in Ukraine and other war-affected regions, and the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin, a non-political movement fighting for the release of relatives imprisoned by Russia.
