without any vote in parliament the UK government have announced they will close the Independent Living Fund from March 2015. This is a ring-fenced source of funding that supports the most severely disabled people to live in the community and enjoy the same opportunities non-disabled people have. Local Councils have said this will result in disabled people with high support needs being forced to live in care homes or have a much poorer quality of life.
