=== ABDUL QADER MOLLAH HAS NOW BEEN EXECUTED, BUT THIS PETITION CONTINUES ==

Abdul Quader Mollah was an opposition leader who was executed without recourse to due process or the rule of law. Justice denied.

He has been accused of war crimes committed during that country’s war of independence.

He has denied these accusations vigorously, and he has been denied the right to a proper legal defence.

The trials have been mired in controversy and corruption from the start.

The Bangladeshi authorities aims to execute has now executed Abdul Quader Mollah.

He was originally sentenced to life imprisonment by the trial court. Following which, the government rail-roaded an amendment to ensure he was handed a death sentence.

His execution has been described as 'judicial murder'.

It is now time for the international community to raise its voice and hold to account those responsible for this miscarriage of justice

* AN international inquiry into how and who was responsible for the judicial murder of Abdul Qader Mollah

* Action to ensure the Bangladesh government is no longer fit to be part of international bodies such as the United Nations Human Rights Council and the Commonwealth

* The involvement of the International Crimes Tribunal in the Hague
