STOP shale gas drilling in LITHUANIA

Our country has been on attack, it's big and we can't stand alone in this battlefield where everything's moving so fast. This petition is important as the WATER for LIFE on this planet, it's important to all the people on this planet, because we should step together and don't let hem do shale gas driling nowhere in the world. Many people in Lithuania are very disappointed and concerned about the potential negative impacts that the extensive process of shale gas mining can cause, as recorded in the USA, international research reports and articles. Drilling and mining effects include: health impacts, external costs and damaged roads, truck traffic on a never before scale, severe air pollution, potential groundwater contamination, ecological damage, farming and tourism impacts, and radioactive, hazardous, toxic waste. Lithuania is one of the richest countries in water resources in Europe. People with critical thinking know that a few drill plants would‘nt be enough and this will be only the begining of invasion to Lithuania and neighbourhood countries. For big oil corporations as CHEVRON and others this will be just another project but not for us...
