Harsher Rape Laws in the Indian Constitution
"Who asked her to go out that late at night?" Who asked her to wear such short clothes?" "Who asked her to get out of the house AT ALL?"
"They deserve to be RAPED."
More often than not that's the Indian attitude.
There are about 900 cases of rape pending in trial courts in Delhi alone. Hundreds of rape cases are reported throughout India every year according to the official reports, and the amount will only shoot up tenfold if you take the unofficial cases into account as well.
The punishment for rape in India is 7 years of imprisonment, but shockingly the rape rate only seems to shoot up with each passing year.
We want harsher laws for rape. Not just imprisonment, it's too soft a punishment. We want death, or if possible castrate the source of their sexual arousal- for something as heinous as rape, DRASTIC MEASURES have to be taken. Only then will those ANIMALS stop.
Justice in Indian courts is lost in long trials. The authorities have to ensure that trials are put on a fast-track route. The result should not come in years, but within a span of MONTHS.
WE WANT TO FEEL SAFE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY. Is that too much to ask for?
