President of Indonesia

West Papuans have been given long jail sentences for participating in peaceful protests, or merely for raising their Morning Star flag. Former President of Indonesia, Gus Dur (Abdurrahman Wahid) allowed West Papuans this freedom of expression, however subsequent presidents have reacted to peaceful protests with violent intimidation and wrongful imprisonment. Moluccans also have suffered in this way.
