As BMW owners, when we buy BMWs, we do it with high expectations. We pay a premium for the engineering and attention to detail.

Yet it comes as a surprise that the car giant BMW could get an engine design wrong? The BMW diesel engines N47 produced between 2007 and 2011 all have a particular design problem with the timing chains, they are very weak and stretch over time causing them to then snap.

The BMW is ignoring the problem and offers different solutions to different customers. To most of the clients offers expensive solutions like substitution of the engine and for a few clients they are offering solutions at attractive prices.

Always saying that the problem is residual, ignoring the thousands of vehicles across the world and especially in Europe are giving the same problem.

As we pay a high price for the BMW cars, we want a high value for what we pay and a client support based on high standards. We cannot accept that a premium car manufacturer like BMW, do not recognize a engine design error, forcing customers to pay a high price to repair a problem that is a manufacturing defect. This problem is also a safety problem for the drivers of this cars and we want that BMW AG recognize the problem and repair the affected vehicles.
