Thank you! Now send a message of hope!
To Burmese President Thein Sein:
As concerned citizens, we call on you to intervene to stop the violence against the Rohingya. Everybody -- regardless of ethnicity, social class, color of skin, or religion -- has the right to live peacefully and without the fear of persecution. The Burmese government will never earn the world's respect while this violence continues. We will be watching until justice is served. Impunity stops now.

83% believed the Rohingya should be denied citizenship.
67% believed the Rohingya should be forced to leave Burma.
Even with these discriminatory views, a large majority of the signers did not condone violence. However, the lack of tolerance expressed contributes to a climate that has allowed this violence to continue.
But this also gives us a tremendous opportunity to speak directly to tens of thousands of people in Burma. We can talk openly to this group of 50,000 about the fears and divisions tearing the country apart and the importance of the Rohingya's human rights. Historically, when people hear from others why such views are misguided their prejudices change.
Let's send them messages from the rest of our community, offering a vision of love and compassion that, if adopted, can bring Burma together and ease this conflict. Let's offer a vision of tolerance and encourage them to see that we are all one human community, and that understanding and brotherhood will always yield more than fear, suspicion and hatred.
Send your personal message now and we'll deliver it to those who expressed the kind of animosity we all want to see vanish from this world.
