Consolidation of media ownership in Australia is a threat to our democracy. We urge you to support the Broadcasting Services Amendment (Public Interest Test) Bill and similar legislative measures to prevent further media takeovers that narrow our public debate and threaten our democracy.

A ruthless raid on Fairfax newspapers by Australia’s richest woman threatens to turn our media into a dangerous mogul duopoly -- with Rupert Murdoch and Gina Rinehart in charge.
